Barney Songs that Modern Kids Should Know & Learn

INTRODUCTION:Barney & Friends is an educational television series for preschoolers and young children ages 2-8 years old. This show was originated by Sheryl Leach, and this TV show is an adaptation of the 1988 video series titled Barney and The Backyard Gang. This show involves a purple Tyrannosaurus rex dinosaur named Barney, who loves and cares for the children, and he has a friendly, huggable and optimistic attitude. Thus, by watching Barney & Friends, your children will surely have their fears of dinosaurs taken away or drove off. This show involves four dinosaurs, such as Barney himself, along with the little dino-pals, Baby Bop, BJ and Riff, who help give children the range of skills they need to grow; using tons of music, fun and laughs to guide the way. Barney has also helped teach children about friendship, sharing, cooperation, respect for others, good manners, self-esteem, as well as good health and good safety habits. During the end of each episode, Barney restates the lesson the show taught that day. He has also helped expand the imagination of young children.

When your children (whether young or old) has watched Barney, most of the songs in the show were hereby catchy and meaningful.

The show, which followed the iconic purple dinosaur and his friends Baby Bop, BJ, and a group of kids, became known not only for entertaining children with adorable Barney songs, but also for teaching viewers a variety of concepts, such as the ABCs and 123s, animal sounds, and how to clean up around the house.

Barney & Friends has a positive impact on its young audience, as per research. The show has inspired children's language development and prepared them for a more structured learning environment, according to a series of studies from Yale University's Family Television Research & Consultation Center. Some of the teachers who took part in the studies even claimed that after showing the show to their students, the incidence of violent play among pre-schoolers fell.

Here are the songs that relates to the traits of the children:

1. What Should I Do

This song is relating to the difficult problem or challenge they can't do it alone, or someone needs an assistant from a trusted person. It doesn't matter if a child is a preschooler or school-aged, this song should intend for intercession for them to think what should they do to solve the problem.

What should I do?
What should I do?
What should I do, when I don't know what I should do.
Should I make a brave face?
Should I cross my arms and wait?
Should I count the tick-tocks on the clock
When I haven't got a clue?
What should I do?
What should he/she do?
What should I do?
What should he/she do?
What should I do, when I don't know what I should do.
Should I tap my toes?
Should I shout a big "oh no!"?
(Oh no!)
Should I ring my mom or sing a song?
I'm feeling so confused.
What should I do?
What should he/she do?
What should I do?
What should he/she do?
What should I do, when I don't know when I should do!
What should I do?
What should he/she do?
What should I do?
What should he/she do?
What should I do, when I don't know when I should do!

2. Respect

When your child seems to don't know to show respect towards other people, no matter who they are, and struggled to learn how to respect others.

This world can be a lot more fun,
if we show respect to everyone.
Friend to friend and face to face,
We can make this a better place.
Show respect to others.
It's very easy to do.
Just be polite and treat them right;
The way they should treat you.
No more teasing. Don't call names.
There are other more pleasing games.
The words you speak in someone's ear
should be the kind they like to hear.
Show respect to others.
It's very easy to do.
Just be polite and treat them right;
The way they should treat you.
If someone doesn't look the same,
don't be shy, just ask their name.
After a while, you'll smile so wide,
When you see we're all the same inside.
Show respect to others.
It's very easy to do.
Just be polite and treat them right;
The way they should treat you.
Being a bully is no fun.
Pushing and punching at everyone.
You'll have more friends, please understand,
when that fist becomes a helping hand.
Show respect to others.
It's very easy to do.
Just be polite and treat them right;
The way they should treat you.
Someone else to be nice to
are people who are older than you.
They've been around for quite a while.
Please use manners that will make them smile.
Show respect to others.
It's very easy to do.
Just be polite and treat them right;
The way they should treat you.
This world can be a lot more fun,
if we show respect to everyone.
Friend to friend and face to face,
We can make this a better place.
Show respect to others.
It's very easy to do.
Just be polite and treat them right;
The way they should treat you.
Just be polite and treat them right;
The way they should treat you.
Respect!

3. Keep Your Sneeze To Yourself

Children at young ages unintentionally sneezed towards other people, and don't know how to protect their faces when they sneeze, what they didn't know was that they were spreading viruses towards others. So, here's the song in motivation to protect themselves when they cough or sneeze.

With our friends at school and play,
We share and share alike each day.
I'll share a toy, you'll share a snack.
You'll share with me, and I'll share right back.
But there is one thing that you should not share.
Keep your sneeze to yourself.
Don't share your germs with anyone else.
Get a tissue off a shelf
And keep your sneeze to yourself.
With our friends at school and play,
We share and share alike each day.
I'll share a ball, you'll share a game.
You'll share with me, and I'll do the same.
But there is one thing that you should not share.
Keep your sneeze to yourself.
Don't share your germs with anyone else.
Turn your head and cover your mouth
And keep your sneeze to yourself.
Every time after a sneeze,
Give your hands a scrub, use a little soap please.
If you're think you're going to sneeze,
Get a tissue off a shelf.
And Keep your sneeze to yourself.
